I noticed the news on PALGN.com.au
A sequel to 2006's Silent Hill movie adaptation is in the works, with the writer and producer of the first flick on board, with The Hollywood Reporter stating that both screenwriter Roger Avary and producer Samuel Hadida from Davis Films are set to begin work on the second instalment.
They are aiming to have to begin shooting the movie next year after Resident Evil: Afterlife, which is currently in pre-production. The original Silent Hill film made USD $97.6 million internationally when it was released in 2006.
Roger Avary is also currently writing a film adaptation of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. There is no word as of yet if director Christophe Gans will be helming this sequel, although seeing as Avary has previously stated that he would not work on Silent Hill 2 unless Gans returned, it's possible he may be involved if he is not working on the long-delayed Onimusha adaptation. Roger Avary has also recently pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter, although this has obviously not impeded him in his signing up for the film. There is also no word yet on whether it will follow the plotline of the second game, but we'll keep you updated as the project develops.
