If announcing ANOTHER Halloween movie IN 3D on the way wasn't enough to make you vomit, They also are prepping remakes of Children of the corn, Hellraiser, American Werewolf in London and Short Circuit?

“I’m heading back to my franchise films,” Weinstein declared, citing plans to shoot sequels to Hellraiser and Scanners in 3D. Also on the slate are Short Circuit and American Werewolf in London. Weinstein added, “These films are our strength, and we are committed to doing them in style.”

This in 3D?

Might be fun. But Hellraiser remade? Might be riots. And do we really need Johnny 5 is alive to return?

He also has Scream 4 planned now with Neve Campbell returning. Seriously? That series, just like Neve's tits,

Ran out of air years ago.

Why hasn't anyone assassinated them yet?

On a related note, the 1981 Scanners is on tomorrow while I'm in school.

More on topic, I have no idea why there needs to be two remakes to the same movie in less than two (one, possibly) years.

Technically they saying Halloween 3D is the third but considering the characters were killed in part 2, good luck bringing them back. Oh wait, these characters died in part 1 and came back anyways...

Yeah the Hellraiser one is gonna get lots of heat as well as AAWIL...A lot of peeps didn't care for Children Of The Cor so they may not pitch a bitch too much bout that one even though I liked the first one....And Short Circuit needs to be left alone as well.

Don't recall a huge fervor for Friday the 13th's remake. That makes me kind of chuckle. Though I find the original Friday isn't even my first or second fave of the series so I didn't mind.

Same here. Some series just weren't that great to begin with.

I'm sure the two fans of Shocker will be pissed when that gets remade.

Shocker wasn't too bad. I thought it was better than The People Under the Stairs.

You just chewed out idle hands for comedy. The entire ending of Shocker was comedy.

The ending, yes, but the beginning was solid.

Never thought I'd see Short Circuit and An American Werewolf in London used in the same sentence before.....

Speaking of Short Circuit, it was already remade. Did the Douchesteins forget about Wall-E?

That aside, each movie mentioned above being slated for a remake was perfect the way it was. That's been said about a bajillion times before and will continue being said each time a great movie is announced for the remake chopping block.

As for Scream 4, it won't happen for a while. The Weinsteins want Wes to return, Wes doesn't really have plans to return and the only for sure thing is, the guy that wrote the first three is writing the 4th. Having Neve Campbell return is just silly, her star power faded long ago as has the star power of Courtney Cox and David Arquette, assuming they'll be back as well. I smell a Direct to DVD movie with this one.

Wall-E's look was pretty much a rip off, but the movie itself had nothing to do with Short Circuit.

And while the movies bring back good memories, I hardly see why they would remake them so soon, or at all. Any good reason at all? The annoying Indian character will probably just become a wise cracking african american, and there will be some action scenes with a CGI Johnny-5. Wow.
