May (2002)
Review by Bradley Frohloff

I feel that Angela Bettis put in a really good performance with the odd and extremely introverted character of May. Even though she was likely already cast in the television remake of Carrie (2002) before this movie was released, her performance in May makes it easy to see what they would have seen in her when they cast her as Carrie. As May tends to be involved in essentially every scene in the movie, the movie really hinges on this character alone.
In addition to the character of May, there is a really weird song played in the movie during a pivotal transition of her mental health and I found the ending to the movie to be fairly creepy. For a movie of such a low budget, May overachieves.
