Once Were Warriors (1994)
Review by Bradley Frohloff

A winner of many numerous awards, Once Were Warriors is a powerful, hard-hitting film which contains some disturbing scenes of domestic abuse, rape, suicide, all of which are handled and presented in quite a tasteful manner and don't go too longer than necessary. The acting in the movie showcases some quality performances from people who are now renowned New Zealand actors, starting in smaller independent films such as this and moving on to some big Hollywood movies.
This movie will surely bring out some emotions in you as I found the characters and the situations that unfold to become easily invested in.
