Mom and Dad (2017)
Review by Bradley Frohloff

5 / 10
This movie just feels like quite a mess. It starts off confusingly enough with a retro-ish opening credits sequence with visuals and a song that would be indicative of movies from the 70's, but once the opening credits are done the movie completely ditches this aspect.

The unusual concept is intriguing enough to garner interest for the first half of the movie but once the children are home from school, there's not a whole lot of places for the movie to go and it becomes a mundane trek of what felt like inconsequential flashbacks and running through the house, of which is often done at annoyingly sped-up framerates to accentuate the action and rage of when someone is being chased.

Mom and Dad is a movie with an interesting plot but I found it to be quite an underwhelming experience.
