Let's call Creed II what it really is, it's a rehash of Rocky IV. While this is a decent looking production, and maybe I'm being nostalgic here with what I am about to say but... this just doesn't have the same charm. I couldn't help but compare moments from this movie to Rocky IV and how everything just seemed weaker by comparison. The training montage isn't as good, the final fight isn't as moving as when Rocky defeated the Drago and modern rap is no replacement for a song like "No Easy Way Out". Mmmmm.
Creed II is okay enough because of the familiar characters, but it certainly feels like a less captivating clone of... y'know what film.
